I have been using a ProCase Nvidia Shield Tablet Leather Stand Folio Cover Case for a few months to protect my Nvidia Shield K1 tablet from damage like scratches, and keep it clean dirt/dust. It currently costs $13.99 US Dollars on Amazon, so the case is more affordable than other cases for the Nvidia Shield Tablet.  The ProCase Nvidia Shield case works nicely at protecting my Nvidia Shield’s screen and the rest of its device like the back and sides. The front is slightly raise, and holes for the camera, so your front camera is also protected, and won’t scratch when sliding the case across a smooth table.

I like the thin, simple, durable, and lightweight design of the case. The corners of the case are rounded, and the front of the case is covered in a soft leather material with a slightly rough texture like a leather chair, so it is easy to grip. The inside of the case is covered in a soft felt material on the inside. The leather case is also slightly raise from the screen, so the case door does not touch the screen, so your screen won’t get scratches from dirt and  dust on the door because the door does not touches the screen when the case is closed.  The materials of the case makes it easy to hold when I am using, and not using my tablet when the door is closed. The case’s door is also a stand which you can fold into a triangle to use in an upright, or horizontal position. The case is also sewed together with string, so it should be pretty durable. The case’s material does not bend, and flex, so it keeps it shape after using it for a few months.  [continue reading…]

Hacker's Keyboard Google Android

Hacker’s Keyboard is a nice free full featured QWERTY keyboard which has buttons like Tab/Ctrl/Esc  buttons, Windows/command ❖ button and directional arrow buttons which are not found on most keyboard apps for Google Android. It is similar to a regular desktop PC or Laptop keyboard’s layout with many useful buttons like TAB, CTRL, ESC, and Directional arrow buttons. The keyboard also has voice input.

Hacker’s keyboard lets users to perform shortcut commands using this keyboard because it has CTRL, and ALT which are use for common shortcut commands within Windows, Linux, Android, and Mac. You do not need to press the CTRL and Letter Key at the same time. But, you need to press the CTRL button first, and secondly press a letter key like V, C, X, etc to perform a shortcut keyboard command.

For Example, when you press the CTRL Button and V button, you can paste text. CTRL+C  will copy text, CTRL+X will cut text, and CTRL+A will select all text when you use Hacker’s Keyboard to perform shortcut commands in Android, or a remote access app to remotely use Windows, Mac, and Linux within Android with a remote desktop app.

There is an useful input method buttons for users to quickly switch from Hacker Keyboard to another Keyboard like the Android Keyboard which is turned on, and installed on Android without using the Android setting’s app’s Keyboard and Input settings.

Hacker’s Keyboard has many settings like voice input, word suggestion, keyboard buttons which you can turn on, and off to best fit your typing needs,  device specs, and mobile device like smartphone, phablet, and tablet.

Hacker’s Keyboard is my favorite keyboard apps because the directional arrow buttons are very useful. I use the arrows along with the backspace key a lot to make small edits to miss spelled words by moving the text cursor to the wrongly spelled word, and use the backspace key to edit a word to correct letter to change the word to the correct spelling for the word. Using the directional buttons is a lot easier than using my finger to slowly, and manually tap on the right text position between two letters to move the cursor to where I want it to be, so I can quickly edit text without backspacing whole words, or many characters. I prefer manually using the directional keys to manually correct spelling mistakes instead of using word suggestions, and auto correct which I find kind of annoying to use since it makes me feel like I’m in a hurry when I see text popping up, and auto-correcting which is not as accurate sometimes as just manually using the directional keys and backspace keys to backspace wrongly spelled letters, and typing in the correct letters with Hacker’s keyboard.

Hacker’s Keyboard is one of the best keyboard apps for using remote desktop, and SSH apps like  ConnectBot because it has most of the buttons found on a regular PC keyboard, so you can more easily use remote desktop and SSH apps to control a desktop PC or server. [continue reading…]

I have been using the Nvidia Shield Game Controller to play games like shooting games, racing games, and RPG games on my Nvidia Shield Tegra K1 Tablet. The Shield controller works great for games like shooting, racing, RPG, Action, Adventure and other types of games which are mainly designed for game controllers, and Keyboard and Mouse Input because of the fast pace of the game. The controller works for NVIDIA SHIELD, SHIELD Tablet, and SHIELD Portable devices. It also works with GeForce-equipped Windows PCs and Laptops.

I like that the Nvidia Shield controller has a nice round shape which has nice hand grips, button and joystick positions which make using the controller very comfortable to hold for many hours. The controller has a nice texture to it. It does not feel slippery when holding it.

Using a controller us more comfortable to use for playing games because a tablet can be hard to hold, and press buttons on the slippery rectangular touchscreen at the same time. Plus, games are also easier to play because the controller is more responsive, and easier to use than stretching my fingers across the screen to quickly tap on a button. I can also play games for a longer amount of time without my hands feeling tired from holding a tablet for a long time. I also don’t have to worry about dropping my tablet when using a controller, and just focus on the game I am playing with a controller. I usually get higher scores in mobile games by using a controller.

My hands also don’t block the front speakers on my Nvidia Shield tablet when I use a controller, so the sound is louder because my hand are not blocking the front speakers on my Nvidia Shield tablet.

If you play many hours of mobile games a day, and want to get very high scores in games, using a controller can help you get better scores in games, and make gaming more fun with a controller. When I use a controller, I can finish more levels on games like racing, shooting, RPG, action, and adventure games without dying as much, and needing to restart the whole level over again which can be annoying. I also don’t need to spend as much money on in-game purchases to buy extra lives, better cars, better weapons, or more in-game money to play a game.
