Turn Off Screen App for Google Android locks your smartphone/tablet turns off screen with one tap on Lock shortcut

Turn Off Screen Google Android

Turn Off Screen is an App for Google Android which will lock, and turn off the screen on your Google. All you need to do is install the app,  turn on the app, and press the Lock shortcut for the App to activate it.

It is pretty easy to install Turn Off Screen after installing it from Google Play. I just need to open the App, and click on the Enable in Step 1 which turns on the app, and in Step 2, I click on Create Shortcut to add a shortcut for Lock in the Homescreen and All Apps. There is also a Disable feature in Step 3 which you need to press if you want to uninstall the App if you do not want the App anymore.

Once Turn Off Screen is installed, all you need to do is press the lock shortcut on my homescreen, or All Apps section in Google Android to lock your phone and turn off your screen. There is no App to open because  once you tap the Lock shortcut the app automatically opens to lock, and turn off your screen. It takes about 1 second or less to lock and turn off my screen on Google Android devices.

I find it more easy and fast to tap on the Lock shortcut on the shortcut than press the power button to lock and turn off my screen. Plus, I know that my tablet or smartphone is locked once I press the lock shortcut.

It also won’t slow down your phone or tablet like widgets which sometimes always run in the background using up RAM, CPU, battery power and other system resources while your phone or tablet is ON.Locking and turning off your screen with Turn Off Screen App would make your battery last longer because the screen uses the most battery power, and when the screen is off, your Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and other features and apps would be off because you are not using the device because the screen is off which will save even more battery life. Turning off and ON your screen is faster then turning off your entire device by long pressing the power button, and pressing turn off, and agreeing to turn off. It can also take minutes to turn ON the device again. Also, you may end up using more power turning ON and Off your device if you do it a lot because your device may use more power when you are turning it ON and OFF if you do it very often throughout the day because your screen which uses the most power is turned ON when your device is powering ON and OFF, and Apps start up when you turn your device ON. To save the most power, I recommend turning your device totally OFF when you do not plan on using it for many hours like when you are sleeping, watching TV, or on the computer.

Using Turn Off Screen will make your power button last longer because you are using it less because you can turn off the screen by tapping the “Lock” shortcut. Also, it can make turning off the screen easier if your using a bigger tablet, or your smartphone power button is located in a weird location where you need to use one hand to hold the device, and another to press the power button, or you use a case to protect your mobile phone or tablet because some cases may block the power button, or make it harder to reach.

Locking, and turning off your screen with Turn Off Screen App will also protect your privacy. You can also make a pin, pattern lock, or use Face Unlock which is more secure than the standard slide to unlock or no lockscreen to secure your phone or tablet even more in the Lock Security section of the Google Android settings.

If you set your Screen Lock to None in Google Android, you would be automatically shown the homescreen, or last app you used after you press the Power button instead of the lock screen when you have slide to unlock, pin , pattern, or Face unlock turned on in the Lockscreen settings in Google Android.

Turn Off My Screen works on Most versions of Google Android from 2.2 Froyo, 2.3 Gingerbread, 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 4.1-4.3 Jellybean, and 4.4 Kitkat.  It is also only 334 KB in size, so it only takes up a very small amount of space on Android’s storage drive.
