Cooler Master Device Cooling Google Android App
Cooler Master is a free temperature monitoring, and cooler app which makes your device cooler by closing background apps which are running on Google Android. Cooler Master is very easy to use. After I open Cooler Master, it will show me the current temperature of my Google Android device, and a line graph of the temperature of my device over time. Cooler Master also shows me the current RAM and CPU usage of my device.

There is a “Detect overheating Apps” button at the bottom of the Cooler Master App which will find background apps which are running in Google Android, and using up CPU, and RAM resources. After you clicked on the button, and Cooler Master finishes the CPU background app scan, I can stop all apps from running in the background, or choose which background apps I want to stop.

When I am done picking and choosing which apps I want to stop from running in the background of Google Android, I need to tap on the “Cool Down” button, and the background apps are no longer running in the background. After some time, my Google Android tablet, smartphone, or device should run cooler because fewer background apps are using up CPU and RAM resources which make my device hotter. [continue reading…]

Libreoffice Writer Word Processor for Windows, Linux, Raspberry Pi,Mac
LibreOffice Writer a free Word Processor which is great to use on Windows, Linux, and Mac. It is so lightweight and fast that it can run quickly on older Windows, Linux computers, and very affordable $35 Raspberry Pi 2 Micro computer with a 900MHz CPU, 1GB of RAM, and on-board video.

LibreOffice is based on Open Office by Apache. LibreOffice and Open Office both have similar features like they both come with a Word Processor, Spreadsheet, Drawing and Database tool. I been using OpenOffice, and LibreOffice for many years, and they both work very reliably. I don’t experience file corruption and crashing problems like other free word processors which I tried in the past. Scrolling up and down a document with many pages is fast, and smooth.

Using LibreOffice is faster than using online based Word Processor for web browsers, and other regular word processors in my experience. Sometimes web browsers or the website which the Word Processor is hosted on have slow performance problems which make typing slower because there is a second of wait time before I see the text I type show up on online web browser window. Sometimes regular Word Processors start up slowly, and crash a lot which makes using it more slow. When I type words in LibreOffice Writer, words show up instantly onto Writer, and there is no word processing slowdown problems even when I type very quickly. [continue reading…]

Linux Lightweight Web Browser for slower Linux computers
Sometimes browsing the web on older computers and slower computers like netbooks, tablets, and mini PCs like the Raspberry Pi 1-2 with slower CPUs, less RAM, and storage space can be very slow even when you use a lightweight Linux operating system like Debian, Raspbian, Lubuntu, Arch Linux and Xubuntu. But, there are some full featured lightweight web browsers like IceWeasel, Web, and Midori which have most of the features like JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and plug-in support which let you use the web browser to go on YouTube to watch videos, check e-mail on webmail, go on social networks like Facebook, and Twitter, and use plug-ins like Flash and Java. Lightweight web browsers don’t use as much Storage, RAM, and CPU as bigger web browsers.

The benefits of using a lightweight web browser includes faster performance like faster website loading times, more free RAM, CPU, and storage resources for doing other tasks, better reliability, lower power consumption, longer battery life, and no un-needed features. Some lightweight web browsers are also easier to use because lightweight web browsers user interfaces are very basic with just the features like tabs, bookmarks, address bar, and navigational bars which most users need to browse the web.

The greatest advantage of using a Lightweight Linux Web browser like Midori on a Lightweight Linux Operating like Raspian is that you can browse the web at a good speed even on less powerful computers like the Raspberry Pi 1-2, or an old desktop, netbook, ,laptop, tablet with a 800-1000 Mhz single core CPU, 256MB of RAM, and 10GB or less storage. You can re-use your old computers or use a cheap low power usage Linux PC like the $35 Raspberry Pi 2 for browsing the web at a usable speed when using a lightweight web browser like Midori. Using Midori, Web, IceWeasel, and Firefox on more modern Linux computers would make browsing the web very fast, and responsive because of the low system resource usage of Linux based operating systems like Puppy Linux, Linux Mint, and Debian.
