Baidu which is China’s biggest search engine recently release its free western and thai language Antivirus software for protecting Windows from viruses by using Avira’s virus definitions along with Baidu Cloud Security Engine and Definitions.
The Quickscan for Baidu Antivirus is pretty fast, and only takes a few minutes to complete.
Baidu also uses very little system resources like CPU, RAM, and hard drive space while protecting Windows operating systems from viruses. According to Baidu Antivirus website, it only uses 10MB of RAM, and the installer is only 11MB in size.
Baidu also is very stable, and rarely slowdowns, or crashes in my experience using Baidu Antivirus as my main antivirus in Windows 8. On Baidu’s website, it states that Baidu is compatible with 10 popular computer security software, so this most likely means you can run Baidu Antivirus with Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware, and other computer antivirus, antispyware, antimalware, and firewall software without conflict.
Baidu Antivirus 2013 also silently updates its antivirus definition files while you use your computer, so you never have to manually update it.
I like how easy the user interface is for Baidu. I just need to click the Full, Quick, or custom Scan button to perform a virus scan on my computer, and real-time antivirus protection is on by default.
Changing the settings in Baidu Antivirus is pretty easy as well because I just click on the Right arrow button on the right to change settings related to file system protection, web address protection, proactive defense, and Self-defense. I can also click on the gears button on the top right of Baidu to change more settings related to the Antivirus like update, general , and to enable Avira’s definitions in the Engine Options.
The System Tray shortcut can also be used to do a quick scan, open Baidu Antivirus, change settings, or exit Baidu.
I like the Light Blue and White theme for Baidu Antivirus, and Baidu telling me my PC is safe beside the Blue Shield. The User Interface for Baidu is very simple, so I can easily find the scan, and settings buttons in Baidu Antivirus.
